All our cottages are available to book for the week (Fri-Fri) or for short breaks (mid-week Mon-Fri, weekend Fri-Mon). Check in is from 4pm, and check out by 10am. All our guest get complimentary passes to Harewood House and Grounds during their stay (NB there is limited opening between Nov and Easter)
All our bedrooms have super comfy, award winning Hypnos beds (some call them the most comfortable bed in the world, but we’ll let you decide) and most rooms can be offered as twin or doubles. We have smart TV’s, Bluetooth speakers and complimentary Wi-Fi access in all our properties.
All of our fixtures and fittings have been chosen with sustainability in mind, for example our wooden furniture is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved as from sustainable sources, our picnic tables are made using recycled bottles and our toiletries are eco-friendly. In addition, our properties offer further green credentials being heated by renewable energy from our on-site biomass plant, powered by thinning from our woodland operations on the estate, helping you holiday with ethical, environmental and sustainable credentials.
The complex is comprised of various Grade II listed former estate workers’ cottages and attached linking outbuildings. The cottages were designed and built in the mid-late 18th century by John Carr for Edwin Lascelles, 1st Lord Harewood. The buildings are made of punch-dressed stone, with stone slate roofs, and have sash windows and lots of great period features (wait until you see the sloping windows!). The properties have all undergone sympathetic renovation in recent years, and now form a high end and unique set of holiday cottages for you to enjoy.
Carr House and Carr Cottage
These two adjoining Grade II Listed cottages are aptly named after their designer John Carr, who also designed Harewood House. Set in perfect tranquility in the middle of Carr Park, they boast some of the best views on the Estate, with amazing views over ancient parkland, the main lake and Harewood House set on the hill beyond.
Both properties have their own secure parking area and are ideal to book together for larger families, as the outside spaces can be shared if required. As with all our properties, they come with complimentary WIFI access and offer sustainable credentials, being heated by an onsite biomass plant. From the cottages you also have access to the 15 miles of Estate public footpaths right from your doorstep.
